Membership agreement
Parties
- Energy Storage (UK) LTD, trading as the Energy Storage Association (UK), incorporated and registered in England and Wales with company number 16338714 whose registered office is at Building 2 Etruria Valley Office Village, Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent, ST1 5RQ (the Company); and
- [MEMBER] (the Member).
The Company is a private company limited by guarantee without share capital incorporated in England with company number 16338714 on 24 March 2025. The Company operates as a non-profit organisation.
Objectives of the Company
The Company’s objective is to represent the development and deployment of current and future energy storage technologies for behind and front of meter developments to support the decarbonisation, reduced costs and increased security of the energy system with the deployment of clean technologies for the generation of energy in GB and NI.
In pursuit of the above, the activities of the Company may include, but are not limited to:
- providing a forum in which Members can discuss relevant issues to facilitate the sharing of information and best practice to improve outcomes for customers and the environment;
- engaging with stakeholders on the collective view of Members on energy policy and regulatory proposals in the UK, the European Union and elsewhere as relevant;
- engage in research into any problem relating to political engagement, current affairs and the energy markets;
- collect, prepare and distribute information and statistics; and
- undertake conferences, seminars, training sessions and other events for Members, associates and stakeholders.
Each Member commits to support the objectives of the company.
Each Member shall endorse the following in relation to energy storage:
- support storing and releasing energy
- support the deployment of renewables
- support reducing carbon emissions
- support decarbonising homes, industrial processes and the energy system
Membership fee
A membership fee applies to all full and associate Members and the amount of the membership fee will be communicated by the Company to the Member prior to admission. The membership fee will be reviewed by the management committee each year and can be amended by agreement of both the Company and the Member. If an application to join is approved part way through the year, the membership fee will be prorated for the quarter.
The membership fee is payable upfront for the full year of membership.
Termination
The Member may withdraw its membership of the Company by giving the Company notice in writing at least 30 days before the start of the new financial year in April.
